Workaholics

Workaholics

Workaholics Is an all out comedy. 30 minutes minus the commercials of complete and utter hilarity.
This show is about 3 Friends Adam, Anders, and Blake. They have been friends since college and now they work a telemarketing company called Telamericorp. They do not by any means take there job seriously, whether its showing up to work still drunk from the night before or with their airsoft guns cocked and ready for action. They rarely make calls at all the mainly find ways to get around working. The second half of the 3rd season has just started on comedy central Wednesday nights at 10:00 pm. The show has done so well that I believe they have signed on for two more full seasons. Which is astonishing considering these three were discovered through a series of Youtube videos they posted. A lot of the commercials i noticed were defenatily directed toward men. For one there was an ad that played almost every commercial break and that was weight watchers for men. I can understand this because to be honest the most of the jokes are what you would call guy friendly, they may offend quite a few women out there.

A Telamerican Horror Story

The episode I watched most recently is called "Telamerican Horror Story" In this episode there are renovations going on at there office, which leads Blake to finding an old photo of an elderly man that he labels Doctor Telamericorp. The guys begin to believe the office is haunted by this mystery man. The guys decide to stake out the office at night in order to get rid of the ghost of "Doctor telamericorp" but all anders wants to do its look at the super moon from the roof. In the end Blake and Anders have to perform an exorcism on Adam because he begins acting like a possessed child. It turns out Doctor Teleamericorp was an old employee that quit after he was sexually harassed by the current boss Alice. Which is a hilarious story in itself. http://www.comedycentral.com/episodes/u53zmp/workaholics-a-telamerican-horror-story-season-3-ep-311
(From left to right: Blake, Adam, Anders)

Each of the three main characters  Adam, Blake, and Anders are so a like yet they have all there own stereotypical guy qualities. for example Adam is the type of guy that just strives for ultimate masculinity, He thinks he super buff and tough, he thinks hes the best at getting ladies, and in reality hes none of those things. He actually extremely insecure but his confidence is what makes him so ironic because no matter how many times he fails or feels confused he acts like he has everything under control. Now Anders on the other hand is that typical talk the talk but cant walk the walk. He seems to be the most intelligent one but really i think that hes in some ways just the most responsible one. He tries really hard to act tough because they always give him crap about being the responsible one. Yet when they don't know something he is the first person they turn to for advice. Blake Is basically the most laid back neutral guy. He is more of the stereotypical "stoner" character, not they all aren't stoners. He just seems to be the guy that kind of settles everyone down and brings the group together. Adam and Anders care much more about there ego than Blake does. These three characters. themselves are in a sense the exact demographic they are appealing to. I think it really appeals to people in there 20's.

This show has many strengths. First off The entire episode from start to finish will have you laughing, simply just the dialogue itself is hilarious. The writing is so well done, they tend to throw in little jokes about modern topics that are some of the funniest things I have ever heard some one say. Also The unpredictability is what makes every episode great. They are capable of anything if I have learned nothing else from the last 3 seasons. I feel that one of the only weaknesses this show really has, if I had to choose one is the fact that girls are more often then not the butt of the joke as they say. Also a lot of the jokes will only be understood by men with lets just say "manly" experiences. They test each others manhood in just about every episode.

I have been watching this show since the beginning and it gets better and better every episode My roommate and I literally drop what were doing to watch this show every Wednesday. It one of my top 3 favorite shows of all time. I don't follow the social media linked to this show but I enjoy it all the same. Its really crazy because all three guys act under their real first names. So it brings a reality to this also one of the producers plays one of their good friends who also happens to be their drug dealer named Carl. He is on the far Left of the picture above. The most intersting thing ive learned about this show is that they started as merely just funny videos they were posting on youtube. Now its a full blow series that has locked in two more full 13 episode seasons which will be the 4th and 5th installments, hopefully not the last.
